Abstract
This paper focuses on archaeological reconstructions of Romano-British cremation, reexamining the syntheses of evidence, inference and terminology that inform our current understandings of this form of ritual action. In particular, I will look at two main areas, each with their own specific discourse, namely ‘the cremation process’ (in relation to ‘pyre technology’), and ‘bustum burials’.
