TRAJ's Publishing Process

TRAJ Review Process & Production Workflow

Submission

Author submits manuscript to TRAJ via the Janeway system.

Editorial Assessment

Manuscript is assessed by the editors for suitability; if deemed unsuitable for publication in TRAJ it will be Rejected without Review.

Peer Review & Editorial Decision

Manuscript is sent for a double-anonymous peer review and an initial editorial decision is made:

  1. Reject
  2. Major Revisions
  3. Minor Revisions
  4. Accept

Author Revisions

The author revises according to the editorial decision and resubmits via Janeway.

Evaluation of Revisions

Major Revisions are sent for further peer review. Minor Revisions are assessed by the Editorial Board. The peer review process repeats, as necessary, before a Final Editorial Decision is made and the manuscript is either rejected, or accepted and enters production.

Production

The accepted manuscript is edited for content and copy-edited for adherence to house style. It is then returned to the author to address queries, make minor revisions, and approve or comment on edits.

Typesetting

The final version of the manuscript is sent for typesetting and assigned a DOI. A PDF proof is produced by the typesetters for the author to review.

Proofreading

The author verifies that all information is correct, notes errors as necessary and returns the proofs. *Only (very) minor changes may be made at this stage*. The typesetters revise the proof as needed.

The article is published.
